Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces everytime
And I don't need no carryin' on

Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong

So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Havent heard this song in a while...didnt realised how meaningful the lyrics were till I payed attention to it. We all have our bad days, things seem to fall in the negative light, trying to cover up is never easy, and you begin to wonder....where are the people who you need them the most??

A new year is coming, making new resolutions is a sensible thing to do. Kick old habits, get over failures, embrace new challenges, and focus on long term goals...

I might not use this blog from now on, its not much of a blog anyway. See if I have the time la...

A significant day...

31st of August

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you see or hear the date of 31st August? The older generation who've witnessed history 49 years ago in a certain stadium might argubly claim that it is an event they will never forget. Some perhaps, might recall drawings or pictures of a colourful celebration in school books. Some people are annoyed by the sound of fire crackers interrupting their sleep, while others simply think of it as a public holiday! Regardless of how we respond to it, I believe 31st of August is special to every Malaysian in their own way...

This year's Merdeka celebration would be my 19th, and it is by far the most magical and unforgettable one yet. Perhaps its because it was the first time I actually went to KLCC, shrugged my way through a sea of sweaty and smelly people just to eagerly wait for a few mintues of a promisingly dazzling display of fireworks. Or maybe its because I followed swarms of other malaysians into the overly-packed LRT and monorail trains. Maybe its because I took a stroll along a crowded street with a friend of mine I wanted to catch up with. Or perhaps it was simply the atmosphere that lingered all over KL...

The fireworks were more impressive than I had expected, and with the twin towers set as the background, it was simply an awe to watch. It marked the beginning of a new day, Merdeka Day...It lasted about 10 mintues or so, and it seemed all too short. After the fireworks, I quickly took the LRT back before the rest of the crowd got smart...Lol, but my night didnt end there...

The saying goes "fortune favours the brave"...Sometimes, if we dont make an initiative, we simply wont get what we want. Having the courage is crucial, the most important part of it is the courage to step out in the face of uncertainty. Every great venture in the history has begun with faith and a giant leap into the unknown. Someone once said, "there is no security in life, only opportunity" I seem find that this applies to virtues of love and persistence which leads almost invariably to positve results. I made a decision that night, one that I was never more sure until that very moment and I'm glad I followed through. I had made that day more special for more than just myself...after all, it is an auspicious day by itself...lol, Tunku Abdul Rahman must like the date as well!!

             We seize the day
             We turn the tide
             We touched the stars
             We moved into uncharted lands

             Nothing is an accident
We are free to have it all
We are what we want to be
It's in ourselves to rise and fall

31st of August 2006, a date I will never forget...

Dead but not gone...

The thought of having to recultivate the old bolgging habits just gives me the de ja vu feeling all over again...I wouldnt like to blog, but since I have nothing better to do at this point of time, I shall dedicate this post to the Lang Tengah since Andrew made a comment in Carolyn's blog about my blog...haha

Another reason I'm blogging is cuz Lixia is blogging simultaneously with me...Lets get on with it...

August the 8th,

Packed some stuff at about 4 or 5 in the afternoon, was done soon after, my main "packing" was actually trying to sort out songs in my new mp4 player, which I had no idea how to operate...took a while, but finally stuffed in some songs...

Anyway, was dressed up and ready to go before 9, my parents were watching tv and only decided to send me at about 9.25...
Everyone had arrived and looked excited, RC brought his guitar and more junk food...Handre was looked like a tokyo mafia with his cap and all, he looked quite cool though ...unfortunately, I had missed tah lun's new magic trick - making his ring dissapear or something.

So we left for the bus, as Carolyn had put it, some of our seats were scattered, but kind people on the bus had agreed to make some changes and we were pretty much sitting together, though it might have been a bad idea as we were making quite a bit of a racket throughout the journey.

I would think that Andrew and Handre had immensely enjoyed the bus ride as Anusha was sitting in front of them...I mean, what could be more fun than having a defenceless Anusha around? Even the rest of her sisterhood couldnt save her...We pretty much settled in within no time, walking up and down, making fun of Anusha, changing places, eating junk food, making fun of Anusha, listening to music, playing PSP, making fun of Anusha, ate more junk food, tried to play cards, making fun of Anusha, laughed, making fun of each other, and back to Anusha again, while some dozed off....it was like a party, only it was in the dark...

RC had some sleep...well, he tried, but I think Carolyn and I were fidgeting(dont get the wrong impression) and caused quite a disturbance cuz we were next to him, so he didnt quite manage to catch much sleep.
As we entered into the wee hours of the morning, Anusha fell asleep, so Andrew did the next best thing, trashing tah lun in tennis with his PSP...David was another one, I saw him playing some F1 game I think, until he fell alseep too.

Meanwhile, Lixia and I got high and started canoodling at the back seat of the bus till the sun came up, some other guy joined us...we didnt know who it was as it was all dark, anyway, he couldnt keep up, so he left half way...

Oh, at about 3am, the bus stopped at some rest house, and I was terribly hungry (since about 11 or so..) so I ate Nasi Lemak while the rest just had some hot drinks. Some of us used the toilet, but we had to bloody pay 20cents to use it. Luckily, the generous sisterhood members sponsored 10cents each, so I didnt grumble so much...wth man? Voon Chee and I wanted to piss at the one of the corners of the building.

As the sun was rising, our journey was coming to an end. We passed by the silent town of Kuala Terrenganu. Astaka was our stop, many buses had already arrived with loads of other anxious tourists. Some of the guys had some food and the nearby stalls, while others had some hot "teh tarik"s. I was tired of sitting for so many hours I decided to take a stroll, and soon found myself walking along a bay, where a harbour was situated. I rested on a bench and lazily watched the fishing boats leave for the sea one by one. It was a pretty sight. The boats sailed towards the horizon as dawn was quickly approaching.

Everything was peaceful until the sisterhood came along, they brought Carolyn along with them too, but she was busy snapping  photos trying to catch the boats and the sun rise. Before long, the rest of the gang joined us except for RC, who was given the privillage of "jaga"-ing the bags. The sisterhood walked to the end of the esplanade, came back and were excited because they saw ONE star...I think they haven't seen a star before that, then again, I dont think Anusha has seen a harbour in her life before. Lixia thinks its an Orion's belt, trying to be "smart"...the only one she can fool is Anusha...cuz nobody else saw any stars. Anyway, when the sun was up, we realised we should have been waiting at the bus station for our transport to the jetty, so we headed back. The girls were wandered off so I had to get them back, Liz went to some kampung area and I hadnt the slightest thought of leaving her behind, I swear . I bought some expired bread on the way that cost me 2 bucks, Anusha thinks I'm the worst bargainer in the world cuz expired mouldy bread shouldnt cost the same price as a normal one....I think she was right, my bad

Our transport to Merang jetty can in the form of a minivan, one that instantly brought memories back to Voon Chee's good ol' school days. We loaded the boot with our baggage, thanks to a certain someONE (name begins and ends with the letter "A"), our boot was too full and we had to carry some of it on our laps. We wanted to put that someone together with the luggage, but she would be too noisy and we didnt trust her with our luggage anyway. lucky her...

The journey to the jetty took about 40 minutes, I suspect we could have made better time if someone's luggage was smaller or thrown away. The surprise was not when that someone took out a crossword puzzle book, but the size of that enourmous book was the real surprise!! Anyway, we decided to ammuse Anusha so we all worked together and completed quite a few puzzles....except for another someone who fell alseep like a log, sawying left and right as the van made some turns...yup, you've guessed it, the other "sister".

Merang jetty - An array of speedboats were parked along the jetty, ranging from luxury ones to smaller one, our boat was of course, one of the smaller ones . Carolyn wanted to catch some sleep, so she lay on the bench, the sisterhood members were hungry, so they ate breakfast. VC and RC were bored, so they borrowed David's football and started passing the ball to each other, Tah Lun and  I joined them shortly after. When another couple arrived, our tour group was complete, so we boarded the boat.

The boat ride was literally a heart thumping experience. We loaded our luggage and chose our seats. David wasnt too fond of the ride, he tends to get sea sick. I chose a window seat, and stuck my head out. I allowed the breeze to carry my saliva in the same direction (kinda like those dogs you see in the movies, where they stick their heads out of the car with their tongue out, and when the wind blows...you get the idea). Anyway, lixia wasnt too happy cuz I was in sitting in front of her. So I had to change places....I sat in front with Carolyn, and stuck my head out again and no one to stop me.

The ride itself is a lesson to learn. The journey, like life itself, is often bumpy at unexpected moments. It can make some feel sick and dizzy, yet it can be fun if you want it to. Some just lay back and enjoy, some embrace it head on. Some share the exciting moments with others, some, well, have not much reaction. One thing is for certain though, we all face it, and no matter how much we like or dislike it, life goes on...and most of the time, our asses hurt!! Or simply get splashed in the face...there are times we go up, and times we go down....but at the end of the day, we arrive at the same destination. Sweet? Dreadful? Too short? We each have our own stories to tell...

Anyway....its late, so too be continued...

WAH!!!! so long never update....even my flooble is gone

Its been....3 months? Goodness...okok, i'll start somewhere

I did a LOT of things in the past few months, eventful yet fun, here's a summary (not in order):

1)Went to Guang Zhou-Shan Tou, China for abt 1 week:
  • Didnt know chinese excercise EVERY morning, it's like a shopping complex, only ppl are either playing pingpong, badminton, wushu, sword taichi or feather cock...etc
  • I've never seen a public pingpong place b4, went to ask an old man to play with me, he trashed me!!!
  • Anyway, bought a new pingpong bat there...wohoooo!!!!!!
  • Was tour leader one morning, discussed with tthe receptionist for hours, found out where to eat, took the map and viola!! We had a good dim sum breakfast...haha, if I dont get excepted to any universities, i'll just work in china, but i'll have to learn cantonese first...
  • Shan Tou, teoh chew ppl(my mom) eat the famous plain teoh chew porridge...
  • Went on a river cruise along hey long jiang, more like a fishing boat la, we rented a big fishing boat, the fisherman and his wife cooked whatever they caught!! It was excellent cooking.....one of the haul was a GUN!!! can u believe it?? If we were trying hard enough, we could have pulled up a human leg or sthg....i felt sorry for those fishes being pulled up, so my uncle and I tired to throw them back in when the fisherman wasnt looking!! Haha....
  • Went for a full body message, and I mean full body...it was good, but only thing was, I was naked except for a towel!! Damn, and female messeuirs only somemore...lots of honry men were there...
  • They had the biggest live seafood restaurant i'd EVER seen!! And thats saying something....there was even live crocadile, all sorts of snakes, turtles, worms, bees, shells, crabs, lobsters, fish i've never seen before....sigh, corcodile was most poorthing, it was right in the middle of  the restaurant for display, tied up f course....but the restaurant is DAMN big....3 floors, 1 floor is bigger than the KPD area!!! Meaning all the blocks in that area!!
          What I've learned
  • Play feather cock, karaoke is fun(although quite ah beng la) ahhaa, but i did have fun..
  • My mom and I cant afford to pity every begger on the street...there're just too many....sigh, the more you give, the more will flock towards you!! And then u feel sorry all over again...
  • How to be a tour guide: learn madarin/cantonese, take a map, and try to understand what the nice hotel staff is trying to say...(if he/she laughs at you, remember, our madanrin is perfect, its something wrong with them!!)
  • How to cross a big road together with 500 ppl with about 3000 cars on them without praying first....(you dont really have the time anyway)
  • Hot chicks are still most abundant in Spain
  • Chinese are bigger cheats/conmen than Indians (no pun intended)
  • I'm not fully chinese cuz I dont spit and I have toilet hygiene and I dont smoke, and I'm not as loud as I thought and I have road manners, I dont throw my tea out of my window at the another driver (seriously)....
  • Chinese medicine is the best la...but i really dont know what's inside, panda claw and eagle's testicles or sthg...
